Mens Head coaching position
Head 1XV Men's Rugby Coache: Liberton RFCLiberton RFC is looking for a Head Coach for the men’s 1st XV for the upcoming season. We are looking for a coach to work with the other coaches, the committee, and players to drive the club forward. The club would like to invite applicants who are ambitious and innovative in their approach.
Applicants will ideally have a UKCC level 2 coaching certificate, or working towards one. The
positions would ideally suit an already qualified coach, or a retired player looking to get into
coaching. The club will fully support them in any qualifications or courses that they wish to
undertake to ensure their success in the role.
Coaches will be responsible for leading coaching sessions, with an emphasis on player development to maximise players potential as well as devising a player development plan to ensure player progression. You will need to demonstrate excellent communication and motivation skills whilst providing strong leadership to the rest of the team.
Other responsibilities will include:
Coaching and leading training sessions and games on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday/Sunday.
Planning, developing and managing coaching sessions.
Providing challenging, appropriate and effective coaching sessions
Evaluation of training sessions and games to feedback into the overarching game plan for the team.
Individual player development planning.
Lead the team captain for player selection for games.
Leading the team from the side-lines at home and away fixtures.
Training takes place at Liberton Rugby Club, 1 Double Hedges Road, on Tuesday and
Thursday at 7pm. Men’s games take place on Saturday afternoon, and Women’s on Sunday
afternoon. The candidate will aim to be present at all games where possible. Men’s head
coach is a paid position.
